New Patient Information
Congratulations! You are on the path towards a beautiful smile and great oral health by visiting a dentist. Our goal at University General Dentists is to provide you exceptional dental care in a comfortable environment
What Your First Dental Visit Will Look Like with Us
Much like any medical professional first appointment, when you arrive, you’ll check in with a member of our front desk staff and begin the registration process. Once you have completed the paperwork, you’ll be called back to be examined by our dental professionals.
At this time, we’ll discuss your health history, dental history, any immediate pains or concerns, along with long term goals. One of our dentists will perform a comprehensive exam on your entire mouth – teeth, gums, occlusion, jaw joints, and soft tissues. This exam will also include an oral cancer screening and gum disease assessment. Depending on the state of your dental health, you may be asked to make a second follow-up appointment to discuss a treatment plan.
Once the evaluation is completed and reviewed by the dentists, you will be encouraged to become an active participant in planning your oral health treatment. By sharing your thoughts, asking questions, and voicing your wants, needs, or concerns, together we can create an individualized dental care plan that makes you feel confident and comfortable and sets you up for success!
How long will my first appointment last?
Most patients’ first appointments last about an hour to an hour and a half.
What should I bring to my first dental appointment?
Your dental insurance card if you have insurance
A form of identification
Completed patient registration forms if you have them. They are available here. Arriving a few minutes early will allow time to fill out any needed or extra forms.
A list of current medications
X-rays, if applicable. X-rays from previous dentists or physicians may be forwarded to our office; however, we may still request you take others during your visit.
What types of payment do you take?
University General Dentists accepts cash, checks, all major credit cards, as well as Care Credit.
We also accept most insurances and will file your claim to help ensure you receive the maximum possible reimbursement.
What if I don’t have dental insurance?
No problem! We are fortunate to be able to offer our clients an alternative to regular dental insurance through our Smile Club. Our Smile Club simplifies your payments for preventative care while also saving you money on treatment with a low monthly membership fee cost. Ask one of our helpful team members about our Smile Club or learn more here.
Are you ready to start your journey to your happiest smile?
